Is there anything that might 'entice' a google spider to visit more frequetly?

Get a High PR page. Google will visit often.

the frequency of fast and deep indexing by google is all relative to page rank. get a better page rank

FYI FWIW: When the www.komar.org site was PR7, it was being spidered daily ... it just dropped to PR6, and so far that hasn't changed. One thing I DID notice was the attached entries - note the HTTP/1.1 - this is what we saw from Googlebot/Test, but maybe they aren't call it that anymore (?)

Get some good PR5 or PR6 links will help. If you want Google to spider more often update content regularly - once a day if possible, or at least every other day. Use a revisit meta tag on your pages - <meta name="revisit" content="14 days">

You can obviously put in as many or as few days as you like. I do not know if Google pays attention to this tag, it does spider more often if you update content though, so both together would be worth a try.

I only have a PR4 and I register 10-15 Gbot visits a day! IF not more...usually right around 11pm on the button. Two days before the update, I registered 100 distinct Gbot visits in 6 hours. Most are only 10-30 seconds or less. About once a week I see a copule bots spend 5-7 minutes. And About once every two weeks a couple bots will spend almost 15 min. They always travel in packs. I will mostly see 7, 8, 13,14, 9, 10. I rarely see 1 or 4. When they show. Its usually four or five of them all in a 15 minute window. Hopefully this means something to someone.
