Google PR including decimals!!!

I found a tool a little while back now that displayed googles PageRank including a decimal of say PR 6.23, it let you know how close you were coming to the next PR, I was just wondering if anyone actually has come across this tool...I know it exsists but can't find it no matter how hard I try to find it!!!
From what I remember the page that included this tool, plus a method of working it out manually gave quite specific information on working out the page rank
That googles page rank is in a float(for all geeks) and with rounds to a decimal place of 4, thus some pages with the same PR will rank above others.
It also gave some information on the difference's in the pages ranks of Google toolbar and Google directory.

Yes Please

I'd also be interested to know if anyone has a URL for this tool.

Me too - but I've fairly confident that such a tool is not available. Google simply do not output decimal values to the public!

I think what you are talking about is the MS Excel file that can estimate your PR including the decimal? If thats what you mean - I have no clue where it is, I forgot. Sorry.

I do not know if that would be possible. As far as i know, the PR displayed in Google Toolbar and in Google Direcotry is based on a logarithmic scale... It's not easy from 5 to 6 or further because the "real" PR is not the one displayed. I'll try to find some more info.

Isn't this where one of the more experienced SEOs writes that we should spend more time creating quality content than worrying about tricks to increase PR?

Sounds like a cue....

We should all spend more time creating quality content than worrying about tricks to increase PR.

I decided to check out the PR display in Google Directory and found that the little green bar is built with a combination green (pos.gif) and transparent (neg.gif) gifs like so:
Code:
<img src="/img/pos.gif" width=27, height=4>
<img src="/img/neg.gif" width=13 height=4>

The combined width is always 40. The values I've found for pos.gif are 5,11,16,22,27,32 and 38.

The values above correspond to toolbar PR like this:
05 (1-2/10)
11 (2-4/10)
16 (4-5/10)
22 (5-6/10)
27 (6-7/10)
32 (8-9/10)
38 (10/10)

I'd hoped to find a more granulated value for PR but as the chart above show, the ten different PR values are compressed into only 7 different widths for pos.gif.

Would there be any interest in a script that supplied the pos.gif width (approximate PR) given a site's URL? I think I'd like to try that, but it's easier if I know there'll be more users than just me.
