Controlling PR

I have a couple recips pages on a new site devoted to related businesses. My home page PR is 3. It's linked: Home > Link Categories > Links and the actual links pages have a PR 2. I visited a couple of my parners whose sites have been up longer have higher PR 5 and there links pages have PR 0 with what looks like a similar linking strategy.

Check their robots.txt file in the root directory. I have some recip partners intentionally blocking their own link pages. I assume because they believe it will benefit them more if they don't truely reciprocate so long as their link parnters don't know any better.

Wow that certainly is pretty sketchy. I hadn't even thought of such a thing - although its certainly pretty basic...

Has anyone found strong evidence of any penalties or decrease in "weight" as a result of outbound links??? I am under the impression that outbound links to poor sites may hurt, but what about in the case of a simple links page linking to say 15-20 sites???

Huh, doesn't seem to be anymore sneaky than breaking apart a frame-set to see what's going on... Regardless, The recip pages are showing two today must've been the tool bar. Thanks though.

That is terrible. Using spiders to block the link pages.
How does your home page get effected if you have links going out on your resources pages?

I think this started with the article "Reciprocal Linking is Dead" --- so, it is not that linking out hurts... it is that the greed factor is taking over some people out there and they want to have one-way inbound links which are more powerful than reciprocated links.
