Can page B's rank be improved by an IBL to page A ?
Hi All,

Good forum, lots to see and have has a good look around but can't find a post asking or answering this question.

I have a site that has thousands of pages covering a variety of subjects.

I'm working on a website that sells Pet Foods and Accessories.

If I have an opportunity to get an IBL from a high ranking web page that ranks well for "Dog Biscuits", but the link will only lead to my home page, which isn't targetting dog biscuits. Can this juicy link still give my ranking for "dog biscuits" a boost?

Does link juice benefit indirectly to other pages?

Yes. This is why site architecture is important.

It won't help as much, but it will help so long as you're linking to your dog biscuits page from your homepage.

You need to create a deep page related to niche of the site you are talking about. Only then you will get benefit of IBL and remember though you need to get many more backlinks for that keyword/URL combination and only then it will be shown in top results.
