Back Links not showing?
Is there a sandbag for backlinks too?

I have written a testimonial for a partners site, and it’s published on their PR5 page, http://www.ultracart.com/testimonials.html. My link is not counted when I check Google, however others links from that page are. When I clicked on another link from this page (http://www.casauri.com/), and I checked the back links, it shows the http://www.ultracart.com/testimonials.html page. Then when I check the “cached” page (from the backlink query results), it shows that my testimonial is also on it. It would appear as if Google counted a link further down the page then mine, but not mine. Could it be that the “cached” link does not coincide with the backlink updates? It’s confusing because of the route I take to get to the cached page, makes me think that the link must be on the cached page as proof that it was there, and therefore listed on the backlink query. This is not the only mid PR site I have a clean link from that I’m not being credited for. The links are about a month old or so…could it be that I just need to wait…even longer?


It’s ironic that the highest profession for the net (SEO) is also the least like the nets culture – Instant Gratification! Maybe I should cut back on the triple mochas

This is normal, I have several old pages that doesn't show up as a backlink even if they have a high PR, but I am quite sure they are counting, if not my PR wouldn't be as it is now. Perhaps you will see them as backlinks, perhaps not.

There is no real definitive methodology for the backlinks Google displays. Consider it a "sample" of what they've found for you.
