Adwords and PR
Hi,
I currently use adwords in google.co.uk to have a listing on page one. However, my site has steadily climbed the rankings and is now featured on page one with a PR of 10.
My question is whether or not google may suppress my (free) listing so as to keep me paying for my Adwords listing.

that would be against their own policy to do that, the ony way that yuor pr would go down is by changing something that will drasticly alter the content or relavence of the search

You have a PR10 - Are you for real?? Can you send me the URL in a PM (Private Message) through this forum, you must be a very large company to have a PR10!!
About the question however .. NO .. Google has stated before in other locations that using either the "AdWords" or "Premium Listings" will neither harm your site NOR help it though in terms of PR and rankings (in the free listings).
In short: Using AdWords has NO EFFECT on how your free listings are handled.
I have to give credit where it's due, Google make it easy for the surfer to see what's an ad and what's not, so Kudos for keeping smaller scale sites in there, even though it's tempting to "sell out" for all the money that people would throw your way in order to get better rankings!!

Doubtful
I posted my original question not so much out of distrust to google, but because one of my competitors raised the question with me and insued that this sort of thing has happened with other search engines.
I can categorically state that I have never had problems or any cause to doubt the intergity of google.
As a newbie to this forum, I assume PR means 'page ranking'. Am I right or wrong? The page in question is listed on the first page at position number 7. Does that give me a PR of 7?
I also have two sites that list at position 1 on page one. Does that mean I have PR 1?

You can find a similar rating (not identical) in the Google Directory. If your site appears listed in Dmoz.org it should have a "replica" in Google Directory, and in the left a PR score.

well since everybody else asked ...
Even Google itself fluctuates between a PR9 and a PR10! (or is it on my toolbar alone that this happens?)
If you would be so kind as to send me a link to your site I'd love to take a peek at what a PR10 site looks like (and I'm assuming that you're not Bill Gates )
