6 months old and still no PR

Just joined and here is my first thread
If you could visit my site and tell me the reason why their is 0 page rank.. and give some advice to improve one..
I have questioned it because.. My competitor site.. nearly 8 months old has about 3 PR.. so need some advices ASAP.

Do you know how to 'get' pagerank in the first place?
I mean: could be that your competitor (whose site is only a month older than yours) did that better....

Didn't look, but PR is only dependent on inbound links - VERY loosely: high PR needs high PR links.
If you have no or few links with PR at the last toolbar update then you will have little or no PR to show.
As something to aim for - forget it - don't waste your time.

Belfast .. i really need to know how to get P.R. for my site..
i thought back-links are for stability issues in search engines..

Belfast is right. I have nothing to add.
DO keep in mind though that Google Pagerank is not the same as "a webpage's ranking on the search results pages". Lots of other forum threads are confusing in that respect.

You have to do some work. As I check your backlinks, you didn't work anything for it. Create some backlinks in social bookmarking sites, Directory submission. Do some blog posting and submission. Promote your page in Facbook. Put some attractive and unique data on your site. This may sure help you.
