    Yoast SEO

    Can someone PLEASE help me with naming images for SEO. I am reading all sorts of conflicting information on Google..

    I read don't have the title and alt tag be the same and to have them be the same??/ I don't know which way is right..

    I read use alt text for keywords and then using that is keyword stuffing?

    I read the description is not needed and also the description is the best kept secret.. I have no idea which is right and what to do - so any help would be great. Thank you.

    Title is a title

    the alt is the description.

    Meaning, the title should be what the object is, and the alt should be more descriptive. There's nothing stopping you from using keywords as the file names for the images, in the titles and alt descriptions. Just obviously don't over do it.

    e.g. filename: eiffel-tower.jpg
    title: Eiffel Tower
    alt: Eiffel tower during a blizzard in 2017

    Code:
     <img src="eiffel-tower.jpg" title="Eiffel Tower" alt="Eiffel tower during a blizzard in 2017">

    It is more than just naming the images, it is also about finding the right images that are unique and not copied from other locations. Remember, images are technically content and copying these images can be considered duplicate content.

    But you are right, this can be a little confusing and I read an article by Yoast that really helped me better understand how to do this and why
