Would this work to improve ranking?

Hi guys,

What are your thoughts on this to improve ranking in Google.

I was wondering if having heaps of pages that are linked from the front page which have random text in them ~500 words but still use on-page SEO techniques, would this help in Google?

Obviously you would use your chosen keywords in h1,2's etc and maintain 2-5% keyword density.

Would this help of hinder rankings?

Backlinks is the best way to improve the rankings of your site.But it requires a lot of time and effort to build that kind of traffic for your site it never happens in a flip but yes over a period of time you gain some loyal visitors and great backlinks with an ever increasing traffic.

To my understanding, this is not keyword stuffing. As, the keyword wont be over 2-5%.

...sigh...it's exactly this kind of query that makes my blood boil!!!

why'n **** would you want to do that? you built a great site to either inform or entertain or sell something, right? so why the need to do anything but fill same with superb content and bloody well FORGET about SEO.

if you do your job the world WILL beat a path to that site, all you need to do is to quietly let folks know about your site....say in a relevant community etc.

what? oh. that's NOT what you're trying to do? oh. you're just trying to scam and spam your SEO campaign to get quick rich....

ah....I see.....

I'll take a stab in the dark and tell the questioner to read up on SEO, especially the Google SEO Starter guide. Oh, and Yes, I'll know if you read it or not..

Backlink is the best way to improve ranking of your site.

My question to OP would be: lets say you to happen to rank (unlikely without a linkbuilding strategy), do you think the few people that come to these "SEO-ed" pages would find the content useful? Will they complete your desired actions? Will they then link back to that page for any reason?

You will want to work hard on your site and have some quality content. Don't just fill it with random text. Search engines are smart, they have run into this many times and know if you have quality or random pages of text. Create some great content, market your site, build good back links and over years you will increase your page rank. It takes time.

Contents are great but with no links, the ranks would remain flat and even going down after a while. The best example can be mentioned about Wikipedia which contains tens of thousands of pages, and nearly all of them are found on the first pages of Google for competitive terms. But are those pages just at the top because of being information rich? Have you checked their link popularity stats? They are powered by many incoming cotes and they are the reasons behind top rankings.

As Jim says linking lots of pages of "random text" together isn't going to get you very far.
