Would affiliate links on your site hurt Google Ranking?

Good Day to you all,

If that question has been answered somewhere, my apologies and please direct me there. Say I am affiliated with some niche company. Then I got on my site menu as "Home", "some links from affiliate site". What I do before was I put data from affiliate into mysql and display them on my site. But now I am thinking what if I link to their product page directly from mine, it would be more productive. But not sure if it hurts my ranking by doing so.

Any thought would be much appreciated!!!!

affiliate links do not hurt, at least not "by definition". But affiliate links as the main focus of a page can kill its rankings.
What google wants to see is a good resource - something different than the other blah-blah-blah out there on the same topic. If you've got that, then some modest affiliate linking is not a problem.

Thanks Evans,
That confirms my thought, appreciated your input. I 'll find the better way of promoting with content rich pages.
