Will I recieve any ranking changes http to https?

Hi,

I was wondering as my website ranks quite well for the terms that I need to to, as weither changing the website from a http website to a https (ssl) website would alter any rankings negatively.

Thanks

As long as you set up the redirects correctly you should be fine, but if you not sure you could always try a search for http vs https seo to find out a little more information.

Also, if you dont mind me asking, why do you need your whole site on https?

It won't be my whole site only the pages in which i feel that the customers information is at risk. Its those pages that I was asking if they are at risk from bad reactions from PR.

The encryption for https will cause the page to be a little slower. I would imagine that google would not react well if your certificates weren't set properly for the content.

As said above, 301 to the new secure url. Google will see this as new content, so it will take a little time for them to settle down in the serps.

imho, any page with any form of customer information on it should not be indexed. At all. Ever.

The https is just the encrypted version of your page. If done right, https site can rank as well as an http site.
