Will google rank my blog down for using content from my old blog (old blog deleted)

Hi, I had about 40 articals on my old blog. I have since deleted this blog and started a new one.

But I saved my 40 posts into Microsoft Word, and now im wondering. If I republish these posts again onto my new blog. Will google rank the new blog down.

Or wont it make the slightest bit of difference now that the old blog has been deleted.

The correct way to handle this is to 301 redirect the old pages to the new. If this is not possible I would create fresh content for the new site.

That's not possible the old site has been deleted, the database is long gone.

It's been a couple of months. Won't google just think this is now new content because it can't reference it against something else?

I would check if the old texts are still in G.'s mind. Simply copy and paste a few sentences of the old text into the search and see what happens.
If the text parts are not found, I would dare to use them again unmodified.

KP's answer is the best if you are really serious about your blog and if the blog is one of the main source of income for you. if not, here is another option you can go with.

If you have configured Google webmaster for your old blog, you can use URL removal tool to remove web content once it is confirm form Google that the content has been removed you can re-use it.

Caution: this is only my thought, because I think when nothing is in Google's database, there will not be any case of content duplications.

You're fine - post the content without fear. It's still a good idea to 301 the old site and/or do the GWT move if you can.

Yes you can publish but before that check whether your previous pages are still indexed or not.
