Why is my website not appearing on Google search results?
My website is not listed in Google search results pages at all. I have submitted it's URL to be crawled, to sitemaps and Google places. But get no results. How can I know what the reason for this is? I would like to be able to diagnose it. How long after submission can it take for my website to appear on Google results pages?
help would be greatly appreciated.

In order for a web site to "appear" on Google results pages a query must be made. If you are asking how long it will take to appear for the exact url, it is a day to 2-3 weeks.
In order to appear for queries that people are competing for it could take a looong time unless you learn or hire an SEO.

thank you for your reply. I don't think there much competition with the queries this website relates to. It is mostly a local service without rival. I appreciate the info you provided

I agree with the above post - this site has some great info and you can find answers to all your questions. Also check out Google webmaster tools. As long as your site has good content relevnet to your subject matter and you submit a complete sitemap via Webmaster Tools you should get indexed fairly quickly.

This maybe somewhat elementary to so please don't take offense but have you checked to make sure there isn't a "no follow no index robots txt hidden somewhere in the coding. I recently saw one of my pages accidentally had it.

If your site is nearly new site, even it is less competitive key terms, you still need some back links to your website in order to raise the priority of Googlebot to crawl and index your new content. My blog post often indexed within 24 hrs and started getting organic traffic.
