Whats This On Google???
Many Of U Might Be Knowing Of This But I Recently Came Across The Following Functionality Of Google:
When We Enter Any 2 City Pairs (e.g. New York To San Francisco) In The Search Box, Google.com Returns With A Very Specific Travel Result Under Organic With Travel Dates Boxes. Only 6 Vortals Are Listed Under These Boxes. How Did These Get Listed And Why Only These 6?

Thats Airways Data, for those who wanna see the flight schedule for the and availability of seats and tickets for a particular destination, on a particular plane and Date..
Expedia Agents can provide you with complete flight schedules click on the link to follow through the complete procedure..
Thats all about it.. I guess.. Ummm yes..

Well obviously these 6 are seen as the most reptuable for these places in terms of relevance. i would doubt they had any kind of deal with google.

OK, LKS anybody can click and see that....
The question was: How to get in there?
The answer is: They clearly have a special deal, see the links "http://www.cheaptickets.com/App/GoogleFlightsRedirect?city1=................".
But I don't know how to get in this VIP club.
But this one really pisses me off!!! It looks like you get good relevant information, but in many cases it is not like that.
This flightbox comes out for cities which don't even have flight connection, because are about 50km from each other.
Or it shows up for flights that expedia (and the others) don't have, but local companies do. So if Google really was about to serve the best flight results, he would think about better advertising options - open for everyone.
Moreover, it comes out for many people who don't speak english.

They are google prefered agents provising information and details..I guess they pay something of some sort to google for this..Umm better advertising.. But u know local companies are sometimes helpless in some scenarios..Big brands take complete care and provide accurate information ..

These 6 bodies are popular enof .
I guess they offer most popular Route Plans all over the World and if your route query matches their database they all come on top.
You can cross chk these six will come all together only for very popular/famous Routes not for ordinary Routes .

Guys what i really want to know is whether it depends on the way these guys have optimised their site? Or what makes them preferred agents of google, if thats the case? Or is it some kind of paid campaign they are running?
Tybi......There is no such thing as "cities without a connection" If a city has an airport, it will be connected no matter how close the cities are. A travel search engine doesnt care about how far a city is. It just builds up a connection even if it takes you through a much longer route...Further, your link is not working? Its takes to the cheaptickets.com page!!!
And your statement 'Or it shows up for flights that expedia (and the others) don't have, but local companies do" should be vice versa i guess....but thats not the case...many other vortals are offering the same flights....
Guess someone from Google can answer this.....

It's paid advertising - on Firefox browser all paid advertising on Google comes above SEO Quake extension info bar. Looks like those six companies all pay to be listed under the flight information that is being served up from Expedia. I would think Expedia pays Google and those six companies pay Expedia to be listed underneath. Will explain why some searches show irrelevant results.

It's an advertisiment not about optimization! It is a paid campaign which is not open to everyone...

Of course, when I want to fly from Bratislava to Vienna, I fly to Prague first and then back to Vienna... that makes lot of sense.
None of these 6 "travel search engines" builds up such connection, try to search for "Bratislava Vienna". You got pages with messages like: "No flights were found that matched your search".

Further if you did some research you would understand... the link is not supposed to work because I cut the end of it. Check out the links in the Google search results. For example when searching "Bratislava Vienna" you got:
It means these sites know that Google is advertising them like this and they most likely track it.

Of course expedia has lot more than local companies, but in case expedia doesn't have a flight, Google should show up a different agency who has that flight. But that can be done only when other could join this type of advertising.

Umm Actually I meant to say, .. U buy Viagra fro a local vendor and You buy Viagra from a Top Notch Pharmacy shop well reputed.. Difference lies there..
"Trust Factor" is the word IMHO..
I wonder why dont they tie up directly with the Airline Services and providers.. Less margin(Like Dealers and Brokers are avoided).. More customer benefit..
