Organic Position Vs Google Places
Hi Guys and Gals,
I have a question about Organic Search Results
combined with Google Places.
Example:
If a client is already on first page organically
for a keyword such as "Location Accountant"
And I then setup google places and optimised
it for the exact same keyword.
Will both results get rolled into the 1 google places position?
Thanks,
Michael

Yes, not always but that does happen. Your location listing may even be more important than your organic listing given your keyword.

Your site will be ranked for both Organic & Places.
I've been lucky enough on SERPs to have 2 links to my same site on page 1 of the SERPs. 1 in Places & 1 in Organic.
And if you really want to you can get a 3rd in paid.

I am not getting what's the logic behind this?? While organically you already have ranking on that keyword then why you are doing local listing for that keyword?

Thanks for your comments.
The reason I ask is because I am seeing some of our clients
are ranking well organically, then google changes the SERP
and then all of a sudden "Google Plus Local" is now the dominating
positions on the first page.
Therefore we are wanting to optimise their google plus local page
to counteract the loss in organic positions.
It seems no matter how hard we try to rank their website
organically, We cant beat the google plus local positions.
Is that the best way to go? Or can you recommend something
that may work better?
Hope that explains?
