What's the Best Way to Write a URL for a subpage of your site For The Search Engines?

Like this - www.site.com/keyword/

or like this- www.site.com/keyword/index.html

or like this- www.site.com/keyword.html

Please help?

Depends on how large the site is, or is going to be. I use flat file systems on small sites, but on large sites I use folder systems for better organization.

No.

SEs don't care how your content is organized on your server (directory structure). hey care how it is organized on your site (navigation structure).

As for keyword in the URL, I'd put it in the file name. From what I have seen, domain has the most value, file name a distant second, directory last.

on the other hand, ill choose this > www.site.com/keyword/index.html if needed.

depend on your site structure if your site is big then xx/xx/xx.html.

It will mange by good internal linking strategy as well as navigation system.

what is your take on dashes in urls?

would searchengineoptimisation.html be any different in value compared to search-engine-optimisation.html ?

I think using hyphens is still good
