what custom alerts on Analytics Intelligence do you find helpful with seo?

Never used it much, not sure there is that much value to it.

Unless you want to track specifics, like sudden jump in visit from Kenya...

I might be wrong...

I currently have it to email me an alert if I receive a 10% increase over the day before

At least i can respond to anything suddenly bring in sever traffic

i check my GA account almost 5 times a day everday.. so i don't think i need this alerts..

I check statistics manually and don't use any kind of alerts for it. I prefer checking it manually instead of receiving email about it. But if you can't do it manually and you are busy, you can use the best way for yourself. These services are defined for people who can't check them manually. And you should select each of them according to your daily works.

so when you go to analytics, what do you actually check?

I personally check GA every morning:

Here is what I monitor closely

1- Daily Unique Visitors, bounce rates, avg time on site with and without paid traffic.

2- Provenance (Organic, paid, referring)

3- Organic visitors and keywords: That's probably the most important steps as you can see where you rank high in the SERP and adjust accordingly.

4- Referring site: Who is linking to you, are you getting any traffic out of twitter/facebook, ads placement, etc

5- For point 3 and 4 I check:avg time, bounce rate and New visit %.

6- Content: Check which content attract your visitors. Try to identify poorly performing page and optimize them.

7- eCommerce Tab: Could write a book about this one, let's just say I check in intensively.

8- Look into your demographics: That should be in line with where you ship your products and do your advertising.

All of that is from an eCommerce perspective, might be quite different depending on the mission of your site.
