What can we learn from the results of the query "Site:.com"

Well, searching for "games" doesn't just sort websites that have the word "games" in them by page rank. It displays what google "thinks" are pages that the 'authority' on 'games'.

So my question is, what can we learn from the results of Site:.com

Are some sites more ".com" than others? Unless this is a random spit, we can probably learn something from this.

    Any ideas?

You will get good information that will help you understand how google is indexing your site and what you must improve to make it better. The information you will get is something like an estimation for the number of indexed pages for your site, the titles and descriptions of your pages, are your site indexed properly or not, how many pages are showing when you use this query and how many are hidden, the date each page got cached, and many other useful and helpful things.

I'm actually referring to specific query "site:.com", not "site:mysite.com"

Lol, are you kidding. This query will not get you any useful information. Its just considered a normal search and not a Google Search Operator. If its "site:com" instead of "site:.com" it can be used to search for a certain keyword only on .com domains link ex: seo site:com will search for seo on .com domain only.
