Exclamation weird : google pulling wrong meta description, not written in my source.

    Hello guys,

I need some help !, since yesterday, google has changed the description it shows from my site for a sentence that I havenīt written. My meta name description has a completely different sentence, and I have no information in my robots.txt file. Is like someone ( a human ) has described my site and put that information, instead of the one I want to show.

    Any hint?

    Best regards to all.

Are you listed in DMOZ? Most likely that is what they are using.

Short answer... you don't. Long shot would be to try, and I mean try, to change the description in DMOZ. You will likely have to live with the G description.

    Hi,

    Same problem here too.

    Plz, solve following confusions :

    1) If i want ranking for some other words then what will i do ?
Means that word is not written in DMOZ description.
    2) If i change the description which is currently in my page, will my page get declined from Google ranking ?

    Thanks

Google seems to flipping around every couple of weeks using meta for a while and then dmoz. Good luck trying to change dmoz description!
    Fingers crossed!

    1) What's in your "description" meta tag does not influence your Google ranking. Try to optimise the content of your page or the backlinks pointing to it.

    2) What's in your "description" meta tag does not influence your Google ranking...

By the way - the dmoz description isn't nearly as important as the dmoz title of your site!
