Webmaster tools - loads of URLs not found

    Hi,

I overhauled my sites structure quite a while ago and implemeneted seo friendly URLs.... trouble is now webmaster tools has picked up a load of my old dynamic URL's and has listed them as 'not found'.

Will the adversely affect my seo?

Is there anyway to get rid of them as it's just a bit messy and want a clean site?

    Cheers!

You must redirect (301 redirect) all these links to the new links.

You should put 301 redirection to old dynamic URLs and also request google to removed old URLs from google listings and indexing. You can do this by checking webmasters tool. Hope this will help you.

    1. Update sitemap.xml
    2. Do you have any inlinks to the old dynamic url's? If so, 301 redirects are needed.
    3. Wait

Yes, creating 301 redirects will help resolve this issue.

I agree, but it is a lot of work to do if you have tons of pages and didn't think of it before hand. And if you don't have any inlinks to those pages it is really no point in going through the trouble as far as I can see

Don't worry, they will fade out slowly. If you want to preserve the PR value then you should consider doing 301 redirect.
