Web Strategy

Hi ,

I have a site which is 6 months old , to be honest when i started it I knew nothing and have been working on it constantly for 6 months , it still has a long way to go but it is now ready to begin a proper web strategy .

Currenlty my home page is on page 39 for one term , My goal is to have it in the top ten by November next year , is this achievable and realistic ?

Search Engine Optimisation
  1. Pagerank:
What strategy should I employ to increase my page rank , currently I have a page rank of 0.
  2. External Links:
How much effort must I put into link hunting , currently I have +- 500 links , some from product related forums , some from blogs , none which are valuable . I am using a backlink checker. I use links to link to content within my site (i.e not only my home page ) and i change the anchor text to the topic of that particular page.
  3. On Page optimization:
I have done this to the best of my ability
  4. internal link structure:
I have links at the bottom of my page linking to my specific pages , i have a sitemap .

This greatly depends on what the keyword is?
How competitive is it? You need to do some keyword research and KEI analysis.

Getting links from high PR authorative sites. I would not pay too much attention to PR though, it is relevance that matters.

That all sounds good. Links gain weight and authority with age. Links from relevant sites to content pages are great.
The only thing I can suggest is to create a link bait and look at social bookmarking sites like digg.com.
Have you submitted ot DMOZ.org and Yahoo Directories?

Post your site in the site review section, its bound to get some positive criticism and advice.

Sonds pretty reasonable. Do you also have an XML sitemap?
