Visits are flat

Hi everyone. My site is a deadbeat. Earlier this spring I did some optimization for google (and yahoo) and my visits were steadily increasing. Since then they completely declined and have stayed flat for a couple months now. I have no idea why but there is almost no variation and worse, no growth.

What can I do? I would expect to see my site perform better in google each month and not just flatline.

That is a very general post.

I have no idea what you did.

If you did a lot of off page stuff then I would expect to see steady growth.

If you did a lot of on page stuff I would expect to see a change after a couple of weeks and then not much more growth.

The site can go up and down in traffic depending on user behaviour (ie - you viewing a lot whilst developing and making changes) and also depending on which data center it is on.

Provide some details of what you did, what your market is and what results you are seeing and then maybe people can help.

I basically made all the pages dynamic so the title tags and h1 tags would register better based on the page content. I also opened up several new pages where users add/update content.

It's a community site so I don't change any content.

This is risky, if your ranking pages were static then both exist in your server. creating a sitewide duplicate content issues. Do a 301 redirects from old to corresponding new pages. And will take more time up again to your previous ranking, assuming those links are optimization juices are still there.

There was/is no duplication issue. This is a very basic question... let's back up to the initial curiosity.

How do I get more unique visits without paying for advertising? Don't say something stupid like "SEO".
