URL's of website in SERP is different than permalinks I set.

Hi,

I am having problem with the URL's of my website appearing in search engine results. I have set my permalinks as www.mysite.com/my-new-page. However when I check site:www.mysite.com in google, it displays the list of the indexed pages and the URL of the page appears as www.mysite.com/page/2/

I am not sure why is it happening. The permalink of the page is set properly, still the URL is appearing as ugly one. Can anyone help with this?

Have your permalinks always been 'pretty' or have you changed them recently?

Quite possible that I had changed my permalinks after posting the article - though I am not sure. I will check it for recent posts on my website. Anyways thanks for your time and advice. It sounds useful.
