Unwelcome change in my site listing
I was wondering if anyone can tell me the cause and/or solution to this problem.
In the last index one of my sites had all of its pages indexed and was getting very nice positioning. Right now on www2 and www3 all of those listings have disappeared and the only thing remaining is a lisitng that reads: www.mysite.com Similar Pages I get this result when I search for site:www.mysite.com -1111111 and also when I use my domain name less the .com as a keyword search. Any idea what might have cause this? Some have suggested that the site may have been down when the googlebot visited the site, or that the hosting company was switched since the last dance, but neither of these cases are true. Thanks for any help

A typo in robots.txt can cause that too. (been there done that).
That's about all I can think of *shrug* Lowell |

Try using the "inurl:" command to see all of the pages that are listed from your site. Follow the query by a term that uis common to your site!!
"inurl:www.yahoo.com yahoo" So for example www.google.com/search?q=inurl:www.yahoo.com+yahoo

I tried the inurl command and got the same results.
The robots.txt file is simply User-agent: * Disallow: I have the same robots.txt on other sites which have been indexed correctly. Oh well I guess I am at a loss until the next dance. I just hope I can have this resolved so it does not happen again |

BTW the same thing is occuring with another site of mine. This site is in the index for the first time this month, but I am getting the identical problems with this domain name.
Both sites are listed in dmoz also. Is it possible that it could have something to do with the hosting company? I find that hard to believe but this is the one thing that these two sites have in common. My third site is listed correctly and is on a different host. |

Hi everybody,
Tonyfelice, I have the same problem. My site was spidering before now and in a good positioning (#3, #5 as "barcelona hotel", ...). After last google dance, my homepage (with originally title) are disappeared and it has appeared in position #47 as www.mysite.com. Also, when I check "Cache Snapshot of page" i get this message "did not match any documents". Unbelievable. |
