    Two Things I'm Trying

Given that my site has yet to materially rebound from Google's re-indexing, I'm starting to experiment with different techiniques to see what will and will not work.

Here are the two big things I'm giving a shot:
1)W3C Compliance. I've always tried to use clean HTML coding, but when I ran my home page through a validator, I was amazed at the amount of errors on the report. This never appeared to have hurt my site before, and I have not seen any proof that W3C compliance materially impacts SERPs, I'm fixing my site. At worst, it can't hurt. As to whether it helps should be interesting.

2)Meta Tags - On one section of my site, I have deleted the description and keyword meta tags. I know that Google shouldn't be factoring these into the results, but I am curious to see if getting rid of them will help (or hurt).

If I do notice any type of impact that appears to be related to either, I will follow up on this post. If anybody has tried either already, I'd love to hear what your thoughts are.

1 and 2 don't matter that much IMHO.
    1) All my code is W3C compliant. Some ranks, some doesn't.
    2) Meta tags are ignored in Google, pretty much.

If you have very similar anchor text, that is more likely your problems. The filter from 2/2 is an exact anchor text filter. If you trigger the penalty, you stop ranking for pretty much everything.

I diluted the anchor text on one site and started getting traffic back every day.

I have yet to see any proof that this is the case.
