Top Content Page NOT in Top Landing Pages
For main keywords in Google results I can see home page instead of proper category sub page.
This fact is confirmed by Google Analytics where my sub page about 'Menu Covers' is definitely the most popular page (Top Content). 'Menu Covers' is also absolutely no 1 keyword term for entrances. I can't force google to show category page for Menu Covers in results instead of home page. I know, you will say, make the page more rich in content and keywords or get some links to this page but is this going to work? I am trying this now and I doubt, because I had similar problems with other websites and if Google decides at first to like particular page it is very tough to change it. Have you got any advice and maybe something that worked from your experience? |

I am having the same problem.
Most of my subcategories page rank ok, but some of the important ones still are in the top ten with homepage as the landing for the hard keywords. For the longtail my subcategories are the landing, shown in google. I did build links to those subcategories, but still nothing. Not the way I wanted to do it, but since we are seasonal I decided to go get anchor text backllinks to the homepage for those that google points to our homepage and had some success there. I would be really interested on comments in this subject too. |
