There has been no announcement of a major update in November, but a lot of the time when a site loses rankingt its not because of a major update but because your rankings get recomputed. Google looks for patters of abuse and also looks at statistics that can take some time to build up. For example, if you are building bad links, nothing may happen for a while, until Google detects more of them. Or if your bounce rate is very high, meaning your site is not relevant to a search, you may not drop right away.

Google gives you a fighting chance first, but if you mess it up, you drop.
