Title tags?
I was reading once, you know how it's good to use alt for images? I heard title was good for stuff like links, tables (even though I don't use tables except on some occasions), divs, etc. Are they good to use and can they help, or are they bad to use. I heard engines read it like actual text on a Web page.
Like: Code:
<a href="http://www.link.com" title="Myspace Layouts">LINK</a> IF.. they are good, does it matter if you use a bunch? Should you not do it too much, or do it as much as you can? Also the same about the alt tag, should you do it as much as you can or no? Because I didn't use alt or title on my old site, (the same one I have now just a different link), and my old link was a PR3 and was ranking in google, and now it says all my referrers from google, lists them as my old domain, is it because the changes i've made (title, alt) are making my rank worse, for my new domain, or just because it takes time, because I just switched to this domain a few days ago, maybe a week or so ago. And my old domain took about a month and a half to rank. So do you think my new domain will eventually rank soon here or not, because it's the same site, just different domain, its a PR3, not sure if that matters but thanks for anybodies input. Have you got redirects in place from your old domain to your new one? If not then you should do that ASAP so that all the efforts put into your old domain aren't wasted because you now have a new one.
As far as title tags go they are important to have when it comes to rankings. They need to be relevant and on topic to the content on your page. Your title tags should be no more than 70 characters long. Your alt tags should be the keyword associated with that image, not as long as a title tag. |

Yeah my old domain is being redirected to my new.
And yeah my title tags are usually the same as my alt tags, like if I'm linking an image. Code:
<a href="x" title="XX"><img src="xx" alt="XX"></a> And on all my links on my navigation I use title tags and make the title the name of the link. So this is good to do and will help? |

The title attribute (note, not title tag) won't impact your SERPs. Use it for the benefit of your visitors, but don't expect to gain ranking positions as a result.
Don't compare it to an image alt attribute, they have a different purpose altogether.

Oh OK I just heard it reads it as text so that would help. And yes I know, it's an attribute.
Also, how long do you think it will take for my new domain to rank in google like my old domain is? |

I've been using that title tag and alt tags... And it was proven that it helps in when the spider crawls...
