Think I have a Google Penalty - how to get back in??

Hi,

I have read the sticky post and am still none the wiser. The website has been up for a few years and has been fine. It got hacked, I removed the crap and submitted it back to Google to clear the warning.

Prior to this though, I just suddenly lost a lot of ranking and have no idea why. I then chencged a few titles to make it less repetitive on particular keywords. I actually think it may have been after I removed the sitemap, as this was out of date...although I can't see how an incorrect sitemap can get reduced ranking??

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated as I am currently stuck beteen a rock and a hard place.

typing in shoppers delight should (and has a s long as I remember) broguht the site up number 1 - it is now 39/40 odd...
