    Topics, not keywords has been going on for some time, and, although keywords are important, it's the theme, or actual topic which google is getting much better at identifying.

    The best way to approach this is by building content hubs that cover a topic as a whole. And then interlink all the "subtopics" aka single pages that are optimized for specific keywords.
