    Question Which Tag will Get the Maximum value from SE?

    Mates,

    I have a query regarding the browser title tag & meta title tag. Which tag is considered more valuable by search engines. Please see the below:

    <title>Test</title>
    <meta name='Title' content='Testing' />

    1. Now when I will check the indexing of the site through site:www.example.com, then which title will show in the results? Browser title OR Meta Title?

    2. Should both tags have same text? Like which is better from these:

    <title>Test</title>
    <meta name='Title' content='Testing' />

    OR

    <title>Test</title>
    <meta name='Title' content='Test' />

    Thanks in Advance,
    Khali

    Simply Use this:

    <title>Test</title>

    And forget Meta's..Just for your satisfaction you can add meta description.. Forget the rest

    The <title></title> tag is the most important and SEs take this into consideration.

    Ok. You mean to say that <title>...</title> tag is more valuable than Meta title tag?

    If we have different text in both the tags, then search engines will prefer <title>..</title> tag text in displaying results.

    I hope you are getting my point what I am looking for?

    Suggest me!!!

    The title element <TITLE></TITLE> is by far the most important on page factor.

    The META Title tag is useless from the ranking point of view and hence use it or not, no effect at all.

    hello great khali

    Again u have posted one more interested query

    <title> Title</Title> has more value than the Meta Title Tag

    but if u add meta title tags in the page .. it will not harm your website, may be u get the benefit for website indirectly ;)... but

    the main part in the search results will be Main Title i.e <title> Title </title>

    If some one has another theory please let us know
