Hello all,
Hope that you could give me some advice. I'm switching a site to a different platform and changing the URL. The site has been well optimized and works great with Google. How do I preserve the ranking when I make the switch? Is there a way to let the search engine know this? Thanks a lot! |

Are you changing the URL as in the domain or the actual IP of the domain. If its the IP then it should be ok. Otherwise I am not quite sure how to go about letting google know that the old URL is actually a different one.

I know that works with normal pages but does it work with domains?
I heard its a lot more complicated with switching domains. |

ohh so u r changing the domain? Then i guess it would be difficult to retain the PR as the google allots the PR for a domain with respect to backlinks. When u change the domain then U have to start the work from the scratch again no matter content remains the same.
Experts coment plz.. |
