    Subdomain or subfolder

    Hello,
I'm using a forum amd a wiki in my website.
What do you think is better for the purpose of SEO.

    subdomains like:

    http_://forum.example.com
    http_://wiki.example.com

    or subfolders:

    http_://example.com/forum
    http_://example.com/wiki

Both suvices are connected to the main website and are directly linked to it.

    Regards,
    Miroslav Popov

I would suggest that a sub folder is a better option purely for SEO purposes because sub domains are treated a seperate URLs (which is exactly what they are).

I word of warning with running a forum on your own domain though, you need to carefully control who can post what with regards to links. One rogue forum member could cause you problems by spamming and linking to a bad link neighbourhood.
