    Stealing Content Still!

Morning all. Decided to start with a rant today as I didnt get much sleep ;)

Found yet another website that "sucks" / "parses" content
    http://www.stabilismen.com/foo.php?url=http://www.xanyxsitex.com

    Any URL you like.

Alas the main site looks like a dummy one, and its in a language I cant read

What can we do to BLOCK them from being able to get our conent? Is there a simple HTACCESS we can add to our servers to stop certain sites being able to get content sent back to them at all? If there is can someone post it?

This pulls the url when you type it in. It gets all its indexed pages by people posting the url like sunnymonkey did. As far as I know, if you don't provide a spiderable link (or as long as someone else doesn't) you won't be involved.

Not strictly true. Possibly this one is as you say, but I have found others that appear to be making use of an "index" file which is simply a set of trawled URLS from google. it then uses this to append them to the end of the script var and make the call to the website.

Seochat is not the site that I found this link, I in fact found it with a link to one of my more obscure websites, and investigation suggests that this was an automated process and not the act of someone posting the link with my URL such as my example above.

Eitherway, I will still like to way to ban domains from viewing my content, preferably via an htaccess of some sorts so I dont have to mass edit my site and because I have no server control ;)

That may very well be true but the particular example you have given has none of these "copied" pages indexed by Google or Yahoo yet.

I removed the original link because it would have been indexed. I realize it wasn't how you found it

Well, as an experiment, I hit the url below a couple of times - might keep their server busy for a bit!

    I'm *so* childish!

    Ha!

I think you are not the only one that had that idea. ;)

Perhaps you want to send them a slashdot too! ;)

Anyone else woken up this morning to discover they have become a karate expert?
