Exclamation Something Weird with Search Queries?

I'm working on a site and I feel like there might be something weird going on with the search queries. See the image below.

This site was impacted by poor links. In one day, about 10,000 links were removed by 404'ing the linked pages. Immediately after doing this, the search queries went stagnate. If you look back in time, the fluctuations in queries are much greater and more frequent.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

I see similar rankings patterns all the time. If you once saw more volatile rankings it may mean that the domain had more signals that made rankings shift. Now that you have in a sense killed off a lot of the signals you are likely to see signals "calm" down.

Did you remember to request that the links be deindexed and removed from search results? You might want to redirect the old ulr's, so that you dont have a ton of 404 errors sitting on your domain. Also, if you are running some sort of keyword tracking software, that may be where you see in increase in impressions. Hope this helps. ;)
