Sitemap advice for best results

Hello, I have a funny videos tube site and im trying to make a sitemap for it.
Each video has some tags under it for example "funny" "lol" |omgwow" which link to the search of the site for the word in the tags. "The sitemap generates thousands of pages with the "example/search?search_type=videos&search_query=funny"

The problem is that the crawler picks up all of these tags and adds them to my sitemap in result generating thousands of pages with the search of every keyword. Is this good for my sites SEO or bad?

Would you recommend i add /search in robotx.txt disalow so the sitemap would be more clean? Or do those search help?

I wouldn't myself restrict the spider as described. There's a chance those extra indexed pages could find a searcher and all things considered its more the merrier regarding how many pages you have indexed.

This is an interesting question and I'd be interested in other people's opinions.

Can you find something unique eg "x" with only the problem URL's and disallow that "x" with a command in robots.txt.

For example you could robot out the tag names but it might be a pain in the a$$. It's better to find something easier.

That's what I would try doing first anyway.
