Site Optimization - Multiple Keywords

Hi guys.

I am working on a dealership website (www.fordoflondonderry.com) and trying to help them optimize their site for a few different key terms. They are a Ford Dealer in New Hampshire and want to to target the closest 4 cities with Ford Dealers, which also happen to be the largest cities in population as well.

This is what we came up with as target keywords (and some other variations of the following)

Gladstone Ford (the former name of the dealership)
Manchester NH ford Dealer
Salem NH Ford Dealer
Nashua NH Ford Dealer

What I did was optimize each page different, their inventory page, collision center page, dealer info page, etc. For each different term.

Is this the best way to do it?

Also I noticed that for some reason the only page that are coming up in google and the dealer info page and the home page. The other ones (new inventory, used inventory) are not showing up in google. Is there a reason for that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be one option, but not a very good one...

Looking at the "optimisation" for the inventory page, all you've really done is to use "Salem NH Ford Dealer" at the start of your page title... None of the on-page content haas anything specifically to do with Salem, so I wouldn't say it's optimised for it by any means.

I would also question your premise that you are trying to "optimize their site for a few different key terms"...
Realistically you are trying to rank for "Ford Dealer NH", after that it's about areas.

If you really want to optimise for each term you should determine what your main KW target is (Ford Dealer NH) and optimise your home page for that phrase... Ater that a mention of the areas you've listed should do the rest but you can't expect to target a specific area on a page which has nothing specific to that area.

In addition, your titles are poorly optimised, containing far too many repetitions and too many words. Each additional word dilutes the rest and too much repetition can cause problems.

Your home page title is:
Manchester, NH Ford Dealer - Ford of Londonderry, NH: Formerly Gladstone Ford, Salem NH Ford Dealer, Nashua NH Ford Dealer, Derry NH Ford Dealer

Your KEYwords are Ford Dealer NH, therefore should come first and the "Formerly Gladstone Ford" is mentioned on the page too... adding it to the title doesn't seem very useful to me!

My first shot (for optimisation and common sense) would be:
Ford Dealer NH - Ford of Londonderry
My Inventory title would be:
Ford Dealer NH - Inventory
etc etc

I would attack the areas by listing them on the home page and - if necessary - creating a page for each of those areas (linked fromthe home page)...

This is just a general outline and pretty rushed (I've gotta go eat - lol) there are many ways to attack this but what you're doing right now is probably not a good one. Think "KEYwords" and don't try to optimise for a KW unless the page is particularly relevant to that KW.
