Site Dropped From Indexed??
I was rank checking a domain today to find it had dropped out of the index completely. I built one new link from a good related resource 2 days ago no kw anchor text and it is a great content site so don't believe this has caused a problem.
Previously the site has had about 12 links pointed to it from content related niches. The sites where the links came from are still indexed so i gathered they are not the problem, Right?
I always understood that if links were the problem they are devalued and your website would still be in the index. otherwise we could all take our competitions websites down. If the linking sites were a problem it would be them that were removed from the index?
All sites I obtained links from have great unique content so I am puzzled.
On research though i found an exact copy of the website on .co.uk in the index which is weird as it has my page titles and amendments and no i cant see and iframe so not sure there. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers

What areas would you have me investigate? This site has a .co.uk and .com with no redirect in place. Would this cause a de index through duplicate content? I thought it could be links that were gained but the sites that provided the links are still in the index so logically they would be removed too right?
I read on google that I can add the site to webmaster tools and they will advise if there is any issues. Which I will do tomorrow.
One thing that I have noticed is changes that I made to page titles on the .com domain are on the .co.uk and also a page I changed on the .com is linked to from the .co.uk. I can't see any redirects in the .htaccess file. Other then Iframes is there any other type of thing I can look at. To me those changes would indicate someone else has been playing around, right?

You have a .co.uk and a .com? That could be an issue, 12 backlinks, could be an issue but I doubt it, I'd check your backlink profile and dup content beings they link to each other.

Duplicate content, the 2 sites are exact, perhaps the link is what brought it to light. But I'm almost 100 percent positive that's the issue.
added:
I didn't check to see if you had the google code on your site but if you add the 2 sites to your google tool account, you may have told on your self. Hard to say what triggered it, but you should have known that's not going to fly.
added more: Had to go check, you do have google analytics on both. Google analytics on 2 sites that are exactly the same... That's was easy for Google to find, you told on yourself.
