Should I submit my Sitemap.xml ???
Hello guys,
good afternoon from Asia!
I have a question, I have been seen in different posts and in experts blogs that the XML sitemap is not that effective at all, and some of them even reccommend not to submit it in Google or Yahoo...
I must do a SEO strategy for a small company with around 30 - 35 pages... what do you suggest?? should I add the sitemap in xml?? and submit it???
Adios!

Sitemap is necessary part to acquaint search engines of the website structuring. It help search engines to look for number of url using sitemap submitted. XML is the markup language which is human readable as well as machine readable, and search engines has no issues with that. So where the problems to you. There is no question about its effectiveness.

Yes
I would always recommend adding an XML sitemap for two reasons;
1) If your site architecture/navigation structure is limited it helps the search engines find pages they otherwise would have trouble finding.
2) There really is no reason not to.
Remember to refresh/update your sitemap on a regular basis, particularly if you are adding/removing pages periodically and submit to Google & Bing webmaster tools. It can also help the search engines find and index new content quicker.
I always generate my sitemaps in seconds from here: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/
Best,
Rick

Personally I'd rather concentrate on fixing THAT first

Sitemap in xml is Important.
Yes,
Sitemap in xml is as important as sitemap in html. I can't understand why some people are not interested what Google like? If there is no harm to submit xml sitemap then what's your problem?

OK, adding an XML and an HTML sitemap are both useful and valid things to do to help ensure that you get thorough indexing on your site.
Adding an XML sitemap will not do anything for your rankings.
An XML sitemap is useful to help search engines find URLs that otherwise might not get followed, for example - search or form driven URL queries that are important. This is why there are often clickable - popular searches or most popular products on ecommerce sites.
All you need to get indexed as a link and a good site structure.
Summary - sitemaps are important but don't expect miracles just because you use them!

If some of your pages are only accessible via a form then unless you make a html sitemap page the XML file is useful. I have a client where there are 8 products and each product has two possible variables - the first variable has about 20 options and the second about 30. That's a lot of products so users fill out the form on the front page to find the right product.
All the individual products are listed on the sitemap.xml and it works well.

To 'Those People" who thinks so, SITEMAP IS FREE. IT CAN BE SUBMITTED FREE. So do it. You have to submit it.
