Short title is seen and identified by Google faster than a long one.

I prefer a short and direct-to-the-point Title but you should play with it a lil bit to make it look interesting

I personally don't like titles too short as google may think you are trying to over optimize for a specific term. They like things more natural in my opinion. Since the title is used when people pull up searches I don't like to make it too wordy, and especially not too much like a sales pitch, that turns people off. I try to keep things in the middle and readable. I also try to make as many pages as possible keyword or product specific so a person looking for "Mickey Mouse Music" for example will find it more easily then "Childrens or Kids Music". In this example my title may be "Mickey Mouse Children's Sing-a-long Music". just my thoughts hope it helps...

I prefer long title to target more keywords. But as much as possible, I do not repeat using my keywords and make it sure that it's eye-catchy to my visitors.
