Serps in Google.com Vs .co.uk plus other countries
Hi,
I have a question that I hope some of you guys may be able to advise me on. I used to rank well for 'keyword A' on google.co.uk and that has dropped out, can't seem to find it anywhere. However, I am still getting traffic for this from other google.com and a few others, it has in fact gone up the serps in the .com anybody shed any reasoning on this?? Thanks |

Have you changed your hosting?
If you have a .com domain and have recently moved your hosting server from the UK that would explain it. Also, if you have access to Google Webmaster Tools (Google WMT) you can set the geographical location. If its a .co.uk its already linked to the UK, if its not it may be possible that the geographic region needs to be set or checked. If you had a lot of links from UK based sites that expired that could also be a reason. Let me know the URL and I can check deeper.

Yeah, your URL will clear quite a things here as tstolber said. Reading your posts just presents a broader picture and that is your website is'nt being targeted to UK if that's what you desire (which seems like the case here).

I've noticed vast geo difference on SERP results for the same site based on where the inbound links are coming from. For example, if you have a bunch of inbound links from a specific part of the world, you will likely rank there.
People talk about where they are hosted quite a bit. I've seen less discussed about where the inbound links are actually hosted. From what I've seen it matters. Just an opinion.... I certainly don't have the entire picture. |
