Hi Folks,

Site A) I have a website which got hit some time back in April, 2012. It was EMD and very thin content ( about 5 pages). This site was in top 8 and now on page 6 of Google for the same keywords.


Site B) On the other hand I have another website on the same topic which has been doing very well. This too is an EMD but very high quality links.

I want to abandon Site A but its has 3 very strong links. In total Site A has about 11 domains linking to it ( no spam at all). If I do a 301 from Site A to Site B will any type of penalty pass over from it ? I just want to get the link juice from A to B and then focus solely on B.

Can you contact the webmasters of the sites you feel you have strong links on and get them to link to the domain you want.

I tried but they are hard to get. No response after few emails.

I believe that no penalty can pass via a 301 redirect: otherwise we would be getting crappy sites banned and then 301-redirecting them to our competition.
