SEO advice required

hi there



i found this forum on my search to find out why my website seems to be going down in the google rankings.

I was ranked 2-3 for google searches "free iphone" but seem to be slipping down the ranks :S



if i search "iphone no contract" im first.



my main hits come from "free iphone" which is what id like to rank higher.

if any guru could please have a look at www myfreeiphone co uk and see were im going wrong then id be more than happy.

Those gurus are probably building a website to kick your butt and take your money right now. There is a lot of skill and muscle around here. So, you might want to remove some of the critical details until you have a guru under contract. It's not a good idea to reveal an important site where smart people looking for opportunity hang out.

Looks to me like you have some sort of DNS or .htaccess problem. When I type in your domain or click on your google results it redirects to your IP address.

Anybody know how to fix that? I hire a guru if I need that type of problem solved.

You need more backlinks, as I see it. Almost all your backlinks are from the same site.

If you can get some backlinks with a anchor text that includes the words "free iphone" and are placed on a cell phone page site of some sort that will be the best.

you should start forum posting, social bookmarking, free classified submission and link baiting with anchor text as a "Free iPhone" . This will help you to increase your rank.

Egol made some good points.

The domain resolves ok without the "www" but shows the ip address instead when the "www" is used...
Are you using free hosting from your ISP? That's where I commonly see IP addresses resolved instead of domain names (plus a whois shows you share the server with 1605 sites)!

If it was me I would either find cheap paid hosting and move the site there... otherwise contact your hosting company about the "www/ip problem".

As for rankings, if you stand still you'll get overtaken... Doubtless your competition is building links, if you want to stay on top you'll need to do the same

cheers for the replys ive been doing alot of reading and changed tactics based on new keywords.
now ranking number 1 for 3-4 top keywords still working on the backlinks got a nice little app working for me

They contain highly similar content to your existing homepage.

If you have control of those pages, i suggest you can 301 redirect all of them to your canonical homepage. This suggest you have duplicate content issue.

thanks i do have control over them sites, the .com site i know has very simular content, but im trying to get better geo traffic state side and .co.uk sites dont tend to get high positions in the states.

ill try vary the content so as its not seen as dupe content.

Hmmm, even if you ranked at the top of Google you must take into consideration the look and feel of your website. I would look at this before i even started to look at optimisation.

Ranking is only one small part of a successful online business. Conversion is what really counts.

the sounds staying asked alot of people about it and most agreed it was a nice touch.

i do need some sort of help but more often than not costs £££££ more than i could afford.
