SEO and Google adsense
I am attempting to increase my google adsense revenue. I am making changes to my existing ads and adding some new ones. I want to know how my new google adsense strategy will affect the rank and keyword density on my existing pages.
Here's my plan: Right now I have a header at the top of the page, then a paragraph of content with google ads to the right of the paragraph. This paragraph is pretty much the only content on the page b/c the page is part of a photo gallery. We are ranking in the top 10 for a lot of these photo pages. I want to make the ad bigger, move it over to the left, and place it above the headline. Will moving that headline down negatively affect the rank of the page (it will still be well "above the fold")? How do the google ads affect the keyword density and other SEO on the page? Thanks again! |

The first thing to realise is that keyword density is not an issue...
Google Adsense content is (usually) on-topic so won't dilute your efforts. In my opinion it will not make any difference, but if you are concerned you can put the ad content in div's at the bottom of your code, then use css positioning to present them at the top of the page.

it doesn't matter where you put your ads as long as their is no tricky text or images that you are encouraging visitors to click the ads... and i prefer using ads format that adsense suggest to use..

To my knowledge, the search engine spiders do not "read" the text that displays in adsense. They evaluate the page on Your Content - not the words appearing in the ad.

Google AdSense is pulled in via an iframe which to a search engine spider pretty much means its not really there.
AdSense uses the reffering URL to target the content as it has gathered the data from its media bot not the normal Google bot. The use of Adsense will not affect your rankings positively or negatively at all!

If I was the boss at Google this would not be true. Just for debate purposes as I have no evidence... if there was a site making $xxx, xxx per year from adsense, would you rank it higher if you were Google? Other sites in the same SERPs were running Yahoo! Ads - all are popular sites with nice content. |
