Search Engine Visibilty tools?
I am current having an issue with the Search Engine Visibilty tool offered by a large unnamed Webhosting and Domains company. I think they have a girl Racecar driver as their spokesperson....
Anyhoo, whats happening is this, I built a HTML/CSS site, with some Widgets, (Google map, translate, Accuweather) when i Run the Scan, the tool is scanning all of my pages twice, there is 16.....for example....the results are showing this:
website.com/index.html
website.com//index.html
Counting the same page twice, but with a double "//" before the .com
Can anyone help me with this, what may be causing it? the "Specialists" at the unnamed hosting company and being insistent that its an issue in my code, which i dont believe they are right, as i said, HTML 4.01 Transitional, with External CSS...basic, basic stuff, nothing Fancy, no Flash, no PHP....bare bones.....
Is that Search Engine Vis. Tool even Reliable?...i dont want Google to think i have Dup pages when i dont.

With 'code' they could in fact mean 'the stuff you put on your own website as href attributes to your internal links'. Are you sure all your links are 100% kosher. Because most html 'valid code' checkers don't bother to check that.
Other than that, this tool might be off. I have never tried it and I probably never will. Have you tried other, similar tools?

Well i did get it fixed, it was possibly an issue with a Forwarded DNS as well as a possible Link issue. The tool isnt really anything spectacular, it SEO basic stuff....checks for Keyword, Descriptions, Title, # of words on a page. Paid service client already paid for....it was the double scan, could have my code issue or the DNS forward. they were just vary abitrary about "its your code" without actually scrutinizing for a minute....

In the vein of the above, one of the most important things you can do right away is to create a separate tab on your home/landing page for blog posts. Incoming, targeted traffic has been shown to not only increase,
