    Question from Newbie

I tried to look for this in the forum already, but didn't see it.

My site slipped badly after the last dance. The reason for this is unknown exactly, but here is what I did notice.

My front page (www.buyershaven.com) is ranked as a 5/10, but all of the rest of my pages are ranked at 0/10.

Any idea why this would be? Any input would be appreciated.

Same problem to my site as well. Very unusal things occured. I try to be used to this frustration. As I said in another post, it maybe a good idea to create another site and use it as "insurance policy" quoted from Gail.

Good point, and yes diversifying your current site across multiple domains is not an unheard of tactic. However, you'll want to keep in mind that "mirroring" is frowned upon, but a handful of domains or subdomains with relevant and "unique" content is something that I have done with my clients and has worked. You can essentially better penetrate multiple market shares in this manner.

In addition, for the navigability issue, you can tie these sites together with a "portal" or main index that links out to your other domains.

You see the use of subdomains amongst large companies, like microsoft, mac and the like, as well as the unique domain tactic.

    That's my take.

Don't worry about and don't change anything until the next set of stable results. Google is a mess right now and everyone is hoping that it will clear up soon.

    thanks all

Thank you e1.... I knew Google was going through the changes... but it sure seems to be taking a LONG time! I had finally worked my way up to #3 for "hearing aid batteries". Last month when this all happened, my site dropped to 57! Since 85% of my new companies business was coming from Google at the time, it REALLY hurt. Then again, it did force me to go after the market of other engines, etc... Thanks for letting me vent though!

Encouraging sloth and avarice. Wow, what if the "next" dance results are same or worse, I encourage you to get off your butt and just bang out as much as you can to overcome the convenient excuse of "Oh well, Google's all $%^#ed up, nothing I can do." Create something new, have a plan B. Don't be content. Worry, worry, worry. And then worry some more.

    It's healthy.
