Question about redirecting?

I understand that it is best to redirect your mysite .com to www.mysite .com , as they are viewed differentely by search engines.
I know that the method to do that is by using HTaccess, however if my server does not support HTaccess, how can I do a redirect that can be followed by search engines?
Thanks in advance!

If you're on a windows server, you use IIS (?) instead of the .htaccess. Search here for Windows redirect or IIS redirect and you should come up with the code you need to get started.

For widow redirect use following steps

1. Remove the non www host header from your main site
2. Create another "site" and assign it the non www host header
3. Create a permanent redirect for the dummy site to www.yourmaindomain.com

If you don't have access in system administrator by you own PC in that case you can request that your hosting provider do it for you. It is just five minutes job.

The other option is to buy ISAPI_Rewrite from Helicon Tech, installed rewrite component. It woks rewrite and redirect just Apache server.
