Question Abour Google Banning

I have enjoyed great success over the last month because my website, gamerosters dot com was first for virtually all my target keywords.

Actually we grossed like $70k in July alone.

I just ran my soloseo reporting tool today... and to my astonishment my root domain... www dot gamerosters dot com

is no where.... other pages on my site are ranking, but my homepage appears to be banned or something?

I have not done anything wrong, no black hat tricks or anything..

Does anyone know how to find out if my homepage got banned or something?

Could someone shed some serious light on this?

I would even be willing to pay someone via Paypal to help me investigate.

Thanks

What is your targeted keywords?

If gamerosters is your keywords I have found that your site is not listed but your URL is posted on the other site. Do you use gamerosters as your anchor text?

What does that have to do with the initial question?
If you do a info:www.gamerosters.com search, you will see that all pages are listed except the home page!

I have never experienced this, so let's wait someone who has to respond.

NimbleAd, I'd be worried too. But don't panic, someone will come to the rescue...

Sorry, I get confused. I thought your asking for your site SERP. Do you use your index page on your sig or just the inner page? Maybe your not using the URL of index page on your live links.

My Target Keywords

index.html was 1st on Google for all these keywords just 3 days ago...

And had been first for months.

ncaa 08 rosters
ncaa football 08 rosters
ncaa 2008 rosters
ncaa football 2008 rosters

Now.... index.html won't even show up on Google.

Something has happened.

Could my competitors have submitted my site as spam?

I have another domain, www.ncaa2008rosters.com

This is a seperate site, but drived traffic to gamerosters.com.

Is this bad?

Highly doubt a competitor had anything to do with it. Contact me and we'll take a look seriously. (Normally I'd just say send it to the review section but if it's really that pressing then let's expedite).

Do you have any type of index, follow meta tags on your site? My thought is there may be something stopping Google from indexing it. Another suggestion is that you create a robots.txt to tell all spiders to crawl your site. These are not guaranteed, just a couple suggestions to maybe lead us in the right direction.

I have seen the same on a few sites in the last month or two, one site in particular of mine dropped the homepage altogether for about 2 weeks, then it came back.

Whether its the same problem, we can only guess, but what I can say is, they all came back with no work on my part (I guessed it was a glitch and sat it out) and are doing well now.

Based upon that, I wouldnt change anything unless you are sure its a problem with your site and not a glitch in google.

It can happen. .com domains on uk servers can disappear for two weeks during an update. Generally it's just a glitch - used to happen to me every update but came back within two weeks. The rest of my pages ranked the same just the homepage went. Quite a few people on other forums have reported the same thing.

Thanks Guys

I consider myself a pretty saavy SEO, but this was way over my head and very mind boggling. I spent the last 3 years building up my natural rankings... and this year was when I really started to dominate....

I am just so glad this whole thing didn't happen about 3 weeks ago because the last 3 weeks are definately the most busy time in my industry.

I consulted with Barry at distinctseo.com and he found a few errors.

1) My footer link to my homepage was index.htm (.html is correct) so that was sending people (spiders) to a non-existent page. That was probably the most taxing issue.... but I was ranking well with that error for probably months....

2) I am a big fan of strict xhtml 1.0 valid design. I was close but not completely valid. I fixed the minor errors and am now valid, I also made sure my CSS file was valid.

3) I made all the links in my nav bar and footer absolute.

I really hope this is just a glitch most of you are talking about. I actually did some further research and I think sales have dropped almost 60%....

Thanks for all your help and suggestion.

One More Qeustions..

So when I go a gamerosters.com Google search, my homepage will show up as first result... however when I click to view the cached version it says no results?

Does anyone know what this may indicate?
