Not at all! I recently started using it on several blogs and everything works good, even better than before because now I have some extremely accurate and detailed stats about the activity on my sites.

Google Analytics will help you to analyze the Traffic Details of your site. You can say, indirectly it can effect your ranking.
From traffic analysis you can figure out the visitor's trends and whether anything is going wrong with your site.If you able to find out the trend and any kind of problem, then you will able to change your approach accordingly for more smooth process.

To complete the answer: Using Google Analytics does not have a proven positive influence on rankings either - and there's no indication that it could be of positive influence.
I find GA to be a valuable source of information, feel free to use it if you like.

Dear Peter,

There wont be any problem if you use Google analytics for your site. There wont be any positive or negative impact on SERP's of your site.
