Post Penguin SEO Agency link building strategies
Hi I'm planning to start a freelance SEO agency as I've done well with my own sites. I'm wondering how SEO agencies are going to link build now we are post Penguin Update.
The way that has worked on my sites (which still rank in the SERPs well, post Penguin update) is through:
- link exchanging with relevant websites where their link page has PR of above 2.
- creating industry awards where they add a link and the award logo on their homepage.
- posting news and a link on related industry social media sites that have PR.
I'm guessing SEO agencies don't do link exchanging as their clients probably don't want a links page on their site. Is this correct?
I also know Agencies buy links but is risky.
How will Agencies build links post Penguin update?
cheers

You can do it the same way as you do it now... but making a link profile blatantly obvious that it is UNNATURAL like.

Ha ha, yes not a good idea to do that!
Ok, I was hoping I could use my current methods, the problem is it takes a long time to rank for competitive words using non link buying strategies. How do Agencies deal with their clients when the progress is slow? Do the agencies try and hit some easy KWs to keep the client happy whilst aiming for big words?
How do you determine how long it is going to take or is the norm to set up a rolling contract with no end date until the objective is achieved or the client gets fed up?
Apologies for all the questions!

I must that it's not a easy task to achieve good ranking of competitive keywords, a time consuming process for SEO's but there are lots of techniques to achieve high competitive keywords....
